As a company, we donate 10% of every sale to organizations doing work to uplift black communities in the cities of Atlanta, GA and Cleveland, OH, the cities where our founders reside. However, as a startup, we are working to scale our operation and sales. This includes finding other ways to create social impact, through partnering with small and/or local organizations.

Donating Beauty Products and School Supplies to New Village Girls Academy in Los Angeles, CA
|
New Village Girls Academy is an all-girls independent public charter high school in Los Angeles whose population consists of girls who typically have significant gaps in their education and who typically have high academic and social-emotional needs due to their being impacted by trauma, such as trafficking, homelessness, drug and substance abuse, domestic and sexual abuse, gang violence, and incarceration. They have a large population of young Latina and Black women, girls who receive special education services, and girls who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. This summer, the team at KCD Cosmetics is collaborating with NVGA by providing care packages for the school's fashion, health, and beauty program, which will include a variety of shades from the K-Line. Owner and founder, Kamilah Dotson, will also be speaking to the class during the school year on her experiences as a small + black business owner and entrepreneurship.
